Words With Friends Ads

I have 26 seconds ad boxes popping up between every single game of words with friends on facebook.  There is no 'x' appearing in the corner to allow you to skip it and it is driving me crazy.  Used to be it would play for a few seconds then 'x' would appear and you could skip it and then it wouldn't reappear for ages though you would get the short 5 second ones occasionally.  These 26 second ads have been running between games for two weeks now and are totally spoiling my enjoyment of the game.  I have tried refreshing and logging back in and out but nothing stops them.  What can I do!!
