My Email Has Been Hacked. Changed Password And Now All Contacts Are Gone. Help

I found a yahoo page about what to do when hacked. I followed it and changed my password and now all of my contacts are gone. What is going on? Am I even going on real sites to take care of this situation? How do I get my contacts back? Does someone have my contacts now?
