How Do I Clean Drain Filter
Current Answers
Answer #1: Posted by Suhana on July 27th, 2023 8:29 AM
As of my last update in September 2021, the Whirlpool WFW9550WW is a front-loading washing machine model. To clean the drain filter, you would typically access it from the front of the machine. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to clean the drain filter:
Turn off the washing machine and unplug it from the power outlet to ensure safety.
Open the door of the washing machine.
Look for the small access panel located on the bottom front of the machine, usually at the base.
Remove the access panel. This may require the use of a screwdriver or may simply snap off, depending on the design of the washing machine.
Behind the access panel, you should see the drain filter. It is typically a round or oval-shaped cover with a handle or notch for easy removal.
Carefully turn the drain filter counterclockwise to unscrew it. Be cautious as some water might leak out when you remove the filter.
Once the drain filter is removed, clean it by rinsing it under running water and removing any debris, lint, or foreign objects that may have accumulated.
Check the opening where the filter was located to ensure there are no obstructions.
Reinstall the drain filter by turning it clockwise until it is securely in place.
Put the access panel back on and make sure it is properly secured.
Close the washing machine door.
Plug the washing machine back into the power outlet.
Your drain filter should now be clean, and you can resume using your washing machine. It is recommended to clean the drain filter periodically to ensure optimal performance and to prevent any drainage issues. However, please consult the user manual of your specific model or check for any updates or changes to the cleaning process in case there have been any revisions after my last update in September 2021.
