Install Water Filter

pull off caps and pushed in. Held button for 3 seconds. Pulled out again wiped water and replaced, held button 3 seconds. I am getting a red icon on the left side of panel above ice button. The icon looks like two water filter tubes and has a an X on the bottom. Filter is in, door is closed. Did I miss a step?
