The Screen Says No Signal And The Remote Will Not Work

I did something while getting to know the LD-2680 - something related to finding a channel or something. The troubleshooting manual says the "No Signal" notice has to do with the VGA mode (whatever that is) but I am/was/want to use a WIFI connection. How do I repair this problem? Thanks
