Next, you will want to prim your floor, a fast way to do this if water is already on it, is vegatable oil. This will create a barrier on the floor, please do not use alot, will create a mess.
The water is probably coming from a pipe lower to the floor in one of the walls, or could be a back up from the drain grate in the house. All basements have them, take a look around, it kind of looks like the bottom of a shower. Another god area to check, would be your hot water tank. Most hot water tanks need somewere to let out excess water, i.e. the tank should have a drain line, or a tub going to the shower like grate in your basement.
if the issue is the water tank, thats an easy fix. If the issue is your shower like grate in the floor, you need to snake it to unclog it. If the water is from a pipe you might need a plumber to come in and fix it, but in the meantime, stick some window cocking on the hole.
