if your check is returned then they forward it to solutran and then you are charged a fee based on the amount of the check. you will not be able to write any more checks at wal mart until that one it taken care of. you will need to go to the customer service desk to take care of it. if it is not paid walmart has 2 years for amounts under $250 dollars and 3 years for checks over that to forward it to the state attorney office in your local area to prosicute

Depends on your state, check with your State Attorney's office to find out, in Florida they have 2 years not 3 regardless of amount, the amount in FLorida only determines the degree of crime...<$150 is Misdemeanor...>$150 is Felony.
Also, now Wal*Mart will autodebit the $25 return check fee from your account once they are able to clear the check. They try twice before submitting it to States Attorney's office.
