Vtech Innotab Learning Lodge Navigator- Device Not Found Error

Please help.... Vtech device not connected error message! Learning Lodge Navigator for Innotab PC. I have over 9 hours of trying. I have already found out las Player  problems, this error was after I resolved that. I have tried all my different usb ports, turning it off and on, reconnecting and connecting. uninstalling and reinstalling Learning Lodge and 2 different sd cards. I have Windows 7 64bit. I keep getting that removable disk thing that pops up when the learning lodge opens when the innotab turns on, that says open folder to view files or other autoplay options. But thats the only thing that i can see that would maybe be causing a problem. Thanks for any advice!

Had exact same problem - problem appears to be lack of drivers for Win7 64Bit. I installed LLN in XP Mode, there's some weirdness with having to attach the shared USB resource (Innotab) to the virtual machine, but it really does work.

First of all, please let me clarify - you are NOT required to run an older version of Flash for the Learning Lodge to work, the software is fully compatible with the latest release from Adobe, version 10 is stipulated as a minimum system requirement only, anyone who says otherwise is ill informed, you just need to make sure you select the version for other browsers (i.e not internet explorer) when downloading it, the reason older archived versions resolve the issue is because Adobe include both Internet Explorer AND Other Browser versions in the archive file.

(the below applies specifically to Windows 7 operating systems, others may be similar)

Now - device not recognised, first thing to check:

Plug the Innotab in and switch on, your Learning Lodge program should automatically detect the device and start up, once loaded, shut it down and restart it manually using the shortcut on the desktop, if the device is detected you should see a blue circle confirming connection (see fig 1)

  • does the device appear as a removable IFSD drive under your computer menu?

Yes - shut down the Learning Lodge and go to start > computer > C drive > program files(x86) >Vtech >Download Manager > System and double click Agent Monitor.exe then double click DownloadManager.exe to re start the program from an alternative location

No - Check the USB cable is pushed firmly in, if so check confirmed USB connections on the bottom right of your tool bar (green tick next to a USB picture)

If usb connection is confirmed, confirm that all Innotab memory partitions are recognised under device manager:-

Go to Start > right click on Computer > Click 'Manage' when the management console comes up look on the left of the menu and click Device Manager

On the right of the screen, expand the + box against Disk Drives, you should see

Vtech IFSD, Vtech Nand1 and Vtech SD (if SD memory is inserted)

Scroll down the management console - look for 'Other Devices' if you find it click the + next to it to expand, you may see 1 or more 'Unknown devices'

  • Right click on the first unknown device and select 'update device driver software'
  • From the available options which will appear, choose Browse my computer for driver software' then select 'Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer'
  • You should now see a list of options, select disk drives
  • From the next menu, you should see a check box ticked with 'show compatible hardware/software' with 'generic volume or disk drive' listed next to it
  • Click 'Next' to install the driver
  • Repeat the above step for any other device listed under the 'other devices' section
  • If Windows hangs badly (more than 5 minutes) at any point in the above process you may have a problem and need to contact the manufacturer for replacement.

You may get an autoplay window pop up, just close it and restart the Learning Lodge, you should now have a big blue circle against the picture of the device which says 'connected'

Not sure if this is going to help you, but this is the problem I had.  Bought 2 innotabs...downloaded all of the Learning Lodge stuff to the first one with no problem (after the Flash Player problem)....2 days later, hooked the 2nd one up, Learning Lodge (and Innotab) showed connection, but it kept thowing a timeout error....I uninstalled the Learning Lodge completely from my computer and reinstalled it.  Worked just fine after that, and did not lose any previous information from the 1st one.  Hope this helps!

It all depends on whether or not you have the software already installed.  I had the Learning Lodge for Mobigo and though Innotab was connected it was not recognizing it.  I went back to vtech site and downloaded the software again with the innotab attached (i did not delete the old version of Learning Lodge) and it updated it and now works perfectly fine. If you do not have the Learning Lodge installed and seeing the error, just keep the innotab attached to the computer while installing it and it should download the program fine.  Hope it works.  If you have problems my email is [email protected], email me and Ill try to help
