I Have The Vtech Cs6429-4 Telephone With 3 Sattelite Phones. One Of These Phones Is Rarely If Ever Used. I Found It Out Of Order Yesterday With This Message In The Display:1.press Find Headset On Base 4 Sec--:-- --/--then Message Changes To:2.then Press # On Handset--:-- --/--i Tried Resetting The Unit By Removing Its Battery For A Short Time With No Change. There Is No Find Headset Button On The Sattelite Bases To Press. If You Select # It Says Registering... After A Short Time It Says Registering Failed. Any Ideas What Will Fix This Problem? Btw, I've Had The Phones For A Couple Years B4 This Problem Showed Up.

if i could find the manual that came with the phone i would have known how to fix the problem. i found the details I needed to register the handset on page 51 of the manual i accessed on this site...
To register a handset:
Place the unregistered handset in the telephone base or charger. If
1.PRESS FIND HS ON BASE 4 SEC and 2.THEN PRESS # ON HANDSET
do not appear alternately on the handset screen after a few seconds, remove
the handset and place it in the telephone base or charger again.
On the telephone base, press and hold /FIND HANDSET
for about four seconds until the red IN USE light on the
telephone base turns on.
On the handset, press # (pound key) and the handset
shows REGISTERING..... PLEASE WAIT. The handset
shows HANDSET REGISTERED and you hear a beep
when the registration process completes. It takes about
60 seconds to complete.
Appendix
If the registration fails, the handset shows REGISTRATION FAILED and
then 1.PRESS FIND HS ON BASE 4 SEC and 2.THEN PRESS # ON
HANDSET alternately. Remove the handset from the telephone base and
place it back in. Try the registration process again.
You cannot register a handset if any other system handset is in use.
To reset the telephone, unplug the power and the battery for a few seconds then plug them back in.
Only one handset can register to the telephone base at a time.

Try unplugging the power from the base unit, then restore power and let it fully initialize and then retry the headset registering procedure. Obtain further assistance on this here (by completing and submitting the form thereto) should the issue persist.
