My Text Messaging Wont Work

Ive tried to send messages and it wont send or receive them, so I dont know what to do because I have a brand new phone. LG Rumor Touch.

Make sure that data is enabled on your phone. If you have activated your phone, but can't text, it can take up to 4 hours after activation for data and messaging to become available so you may need to be patient with it. If after that time, it still isn't working, you can try to follow the activation directions again online on the virgin mobile web site, or call their customer service here: 1-888-322-1122 and let them help walk you through it so you can get your text messaging working. Don't worry, you WILL be able to resolve this issue.
