Static On All Of The Handsets

I recently purchased the uniden model DCX160..the base is corded and there are 5  hansets. The base sounds great with a good dial tone and works perfectly.  ALL of the handsets have a horrible static when you press talk or try to dial out.  I have tried all i know to do. Please let me know what i need to do in order to fix this problem.  Thanks so much for your help.  Connie
