With the release of the recent Xbox Dashboard Update (Fall of 2010) Microsoft lowered the "default" volume level of the Game Audio during Chat. As a result the Chat level appears to be louder, while it has not changed at all. This is a new feature that compensates for the occasional loud Game passages that previously overpowered the chat rendering it inaudible. This was more of an issue when using a passive headset such as the Microsoft or our XLC that do not offer chat volume level control. By default this level is now set to 6 but if needed, it can be raised up to 10 from the Xbox Dashboard "Voice Settings". Here's how:
- Hit Xbox guide button on Controller
- Goto SETTINGS Tab
- Goto PREFERENCES
- VOICE
