1. Check the ignition coil - Remove the spark plug and connect it to the ignition coil wire. Then, turn the engine over and watch for a spark. If there is no spark, the ignition coil may be faulty and need to be replaced.
2. Check the wiring - Inspect all of the wiring connections to ensure that they are properly connected and not loose or damaged. If any connections are loose or damaged, repair or replace them as needed.
3. Check the flywheel key - If the flywheel key is damaged or sheared, it could cause a no-spark condition. Remove the flywheel cover and inspect the key. Replace it if it is damaged or missing.
4. Check the battery - Make sure that the battery has a full charge and is properly connected. A weak battery can cause a no-spark condition.
5. Check the ground wire - Make sure that the ground wire is connected properly and not loose or corroded. A loose or corroded ground wire can cause a no-spark condition.
If you have tried all these steps and still cannot get a spark, you may need to take your Troy bilt riding mower to a professional mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.
