Hi, there are many things that could prevent your mower from starting. If it's been stored for a while and not used, but there was gas in the tank, the gas might just be old. Try flushing out the gas tank and carburetor, then filling the tank with new gas.

Another highly likely cause of the mower not starting is a bad spark plug. Spark plugs usually only cost a few bucks, so it's not a big investment to try a new one and see if that gets your mower to start.

If neither of those solutions helps, you may want to try changing the oil and replacing the air filter. If it still won't start, the carburetor may have a blockage, or you could have a more serious problem. Post a new question with what you've tried and whether you've gotten the mower to start at all, and we'll go from there.
