'99 Subaru Forester Starting Issues

My son has a '99 Subaru Forester it's had starting issues, we replaced the starter which needed replacing after having it tested. The car started up fine for 3-4 days before it once again having the same issues. Any ideas what the issue could be? The car has a 'security/anti-theft' switch underneath the steering wheel which I've always suspected would lead to issues. Any ideas?
