why cant i receive text messages but i can send them?

For about a week I haven't been receiving texts from one contact in particular, nor are they receiving mine. This is only happening with one of my contacts. I have been sending and receiving texts with this contact for a long time and have been successful. Now, when I send the text it says sent successfully but they aren't receiving my texts and I'm not receiving theirs.
