Sorry, the RMT-D197A remote control is not programmable and remote codes are not required. This remote is designed to control the product that it originally came with. If the remote has buttons for other product types (TV, DVD, etc.), it can control only Sony branded versions of these products. Please note that this remote may not be able to control all models of these other Sony product types.
