Lost Color In My Set

Gentlemen, For a few days now our TV set has had some off focus shadows around the subjects in yellows and blues. Finally, all color went away and all I get is B&W. Is this a matter of adjustmnet or does need a technician to intervene? The set is 9 years old but has been used 1/2 of that time during normal use in a seasonal house. Thank you in advance. I've tried to download the free manual at this site and it does not. All it wants is to download PDF readers, which I already have, but not the manual. Can you assist on this also?

Secondly, the point when the colors were separated, this is a convergence problem. This is a CRT (picture tube, cathode ray tube) rear projection TV that utilizes a red, green and blue CRT to produce the picture. The fact that each tube cannot be in the exact same place physically, when each tube projects it's version of the picture off the mirror to the screen, the red and blue cannot match that of the centered green tube. So The red and blue picture geometry must be modified by the convergence circuit to make the picture watchable. The output circuit has failures after many years due to the heat given off during operation. The technician will likely charge you around $400 to repair.
