Won't Turn On

Why won't my Singer Expert Finish iron turn on? It just keeps showing 8 8 8 .

Its heating element is faulty

Make sure that your appliance is plugged into a working outlet. ...
Check the power cable and make sure that it's not damaged. ...
Make sure the temperature adjustment knob is set above the MIN position. ...
Once you plug in your iron and adjust the temperature, the thermostat indicator should light up.
