"IPL" on a Sharp XE-A203 cash register stands for "Initial Program Load". This error usually occurs when the register's software has become corrupted or has been deleted.
To fix this issue, you can try performing a master reset of the cash register. Here are the steps:
- Turn off the cash register using the power switch at the back.
- While holding down the "Receipt Feed" button on the front, turn the power switch back on.
- Keep holding the "Receipt Feed" button until the display shows "FFFFFFFFFF".
- Press the "SBTL" button.
