My Ex-a106 Is Locked Up. How Do I Unlock?

My EX-A106 is locked up. Turning key to different positions does not help. Display shows the letter "P", but no matter what buttons I push helps to unlock. I tried to turn the unit off, but still not working. any suggestions?

P means Program mode. You have to turn the key to the z/pgm mode and hit the subtotal key. The receipt will print out, then turn the key back to REG and ring transactions in as usual.

This happens when you ring in sales under the Z mode. Hope that helps
