Battery Location
We have a Sharp ER-A520 register. The drawer will not cash out with the CA/AT button, tried programming but seems none of the codes in the manual work. Was told to return to factory settings to unplug the unit and take out the battery, however the manual does not give the battery location. Please help. Thank you.

It has a special internal rechargeable battery. Pulling it out will NOT reset the machine. It will just lock it up and lose a MASSIVE amount of system and user programming. This is a serious machine and you do not want to RAM clear it unless necessary. If the drawer is the only problem, it almost certainly does not need a reset of any kind.
Check these first:
Does the drawer open on the other payment buttons (check, credit etc)?
Does the drawer open when you take daily reports in x/Z mode?
There is a special setting on models such as this for drawer open or not at end of sale on certain payment types.
