You state the platte is not working. I assume the drive has a fault and you need to recover data before formatting. I suggest you run a checkdisk before doing anything more elaborate. Open a command prompt and type 'chkdsk c:' you will need to reboot and it will run on boot up. Do not cancel until it has run. If that is successful then recover your data and then you are at a point where you can reformat and rebuild. There are no specific drivers as such. This is a link to the Seagate site for this drive.

If the checkdisk is not successful then the drive would need more investigative tests to rcover your data. Maybe you may need a new hard drive as well.
