02 Montana Passenger Sliding Door Won't Close. There Is A Black Guide That Broke

Black Bakelite Guide That Slides Into A Space In The Doorpost Broke. There Is Metal Inside The Bakelite That Apparently Signals Something To Let The Door Close Entirely. It Prevents The Final Rear Latch From Engaging.what Is It Called And Who Has It?? Can It Be Defeated?
