No Brake Lights

I have already replaced the brake light switch on my GTP and the brake lights still dont work except for the third all other lights work and I found so issues with the wires running through the trunk that were spliced and duct taped could that be an issue and if not what else could it be.

Those wires could very well be the problem.  I had the same problem with my 95 monte carlo Ls. It was the Turn signal switch. It's all caused from a short in the the Turn signal switch"  The brake lights run on the same circuit. Some things to try are...try switching the left and right signal a good 4-5 dozen times moderately fast. Sometimes they get "build up" on them and the can clear the problem. Another trick i used for a while was, any time I used the "signal switch" I would pull it towards me like I was turning on my "brights" just before it clicks to turn them on. This should light up the brake lights. The part was about $60 and I had to take it to a mechanic. The whole steering wheel has to come off and steering column has to come apart.  I hope this helps you out. Good luck.
