Coolant Temperature Switch

Where is my coolant 6empatur switch located on a V6 3.8l 1996 firebird? So far 8v told few different locations and I also got different parts that the plug ins don't match anything else. I had the oval plu ins and nothing matched. Returned it for circled ins now there's or for that matched. I was told depends on the month of the make it depends cause they switched up those . 8 don't know but my car over heats when it really isn't but runs like crap ad when I rev up the rpms it cools down . It's confusing . Thanks

Where is the coolant temp switch located?

On most vehicles, the coolant temperature sensor (CTS) can be found somewhere near the engine thermostat, which allows it to function optimally. The tip of the CTS is probably located right next to the engine coolant.
