Aftermarket Stereo Help

I have a pontiac bonneville se (96) and tried to put in a stereo, now the stereo AND heater do not work. Stereo does nothing and heater shows 3 dashes. would this be a fuse or how do i fix this? if i plug in my old radio the lights work but nothing else
