Problem With My Vsx 919ah Receiver.

I can't get my sub woofer to play. My sub is an Orbitsound with a left and right input connection, the receiver has a single mono output for the sub. I made up a cable to split the left and right connection to the sub , I have 4 surround speakers + a center speaker, all working. My receiver is a Pioneer VSX 919 AH . I would appreciate any suggestions.Frank Benn

Check the volume, mute setting (press MUTE) and speaker setting (pressSPEAKERS).R26; Make sure the correct input function is selected.R26; Check that the MCACC setup microphone is disconnected.R26; Make sure the correct input signal is selected (press SIGNAL SEL).
