Problem With Pioneer Stereo Receiver Sx255r
This receiver is only hooked up to a 5-disc CD player, and 2 small speakers. I bought it used, but it worked perfectly for the 1st 8-10 months. Now, everytime I turn it on, whether I want to listen to the radio, or play CD's, it starts to work, and then immediately stops, and starts flashing the word "overload". I don't understand what is going on, and it did not come with a manual. Is this fixable? I double-checked the hook-up between the receiver and the CD player. I also tried plugging the receiver into a different outlet, but still have the same problem. Help!

Your speakers are not the correct ohms, they need to be 6 to 8 ohms or it will automatically shut down to keep the amp from frying a part inside. The lower the speakers ohms the more power the amp will produce, 4 ohm speakers place twice the load on an amp than 8 ohms.
If your speakers are 6 to 8 ohms then you got ripped off, the amp already has a problem which is very common with Pioneers newer line of receivers, anything less than 10 years old is going to be a problematic piece of equipment. I've seen many pioneers do this same thing, they aren't worth the cost to fix since it's just going to break again. Sell it for $20 and move on.
