Cd Door Closes Too Soon

when i push the button to open the cd door it opens and closes before i have time to load a cd. how do i fix it?

Possible bad firmware or an obstruction along the tray's pathway. The service manual here http://elektrotanya.com/philips_mc235-37-audio-system.pdf/download.html should be of some help.
