Phillips Mc235b

I see in the various info online this unit CAN be hooked up to an mp3 player, THEN we read it CAN'T play mp3's..?!  It has a headphone jack and a R & L  AUX IN port on back of the unit...CAN WE PLAY MP3's OR NOT? thanks for the help.

To connect an MP3 player to the MC235b, buy a patch cable that has a stereo 1/8' plug on one end and two RCA males on the other.  PLug the 1/8" into your MP3 player, connect the two RCA males to the RCA femalews on the back of the MC235, and choose AUX in using the function buttons
