Blindstitching A Hem Without A Blindstitching Foot

I no longer have the manual for my Pfaff Hobbymatic 939 machine.There is a button for blind stitching (K), but it will not remain depressed when pushed.Is there some other adjustment that I need to make in order to be able to use this button?Thank you!Maureen
