Suspected Broken Gear On Pfaff 7550.

I sewed a thick piece of cord to itself and heard a horrible noise. Now the flywheel will not engage the needle. Is this something we can fix ourselves -- what part is required?

There's no free service manual online. I suggest you go here & locate the SM for your model, that is if you feel comfortable opening the machine & repairing it; best of luck.
