Shut Off And Blinks Four Times

My name is Tyrone..... i've got a panasonic tv model #TH-42PX20 that will stay on for about a minute, then shut off go into standby mode and blinks four times. when i try to power up again it will not turn on unless you pull out the plug and push it back in. What could create this problem?

Hi. The 4 flashes indicates a fault code I could not readily pull online. A similar fault code on a different Panasonic model has be found to indicate a short circuit either on the SC or SS board. The site here http://www.electronic-circuitry.com/e/action/ShowInfo.php?classid=61&id=103179 claims to have a Service Manual for your model - from which you should be able to pull out the exact indication of the current fault code.

Error lights point to a problem with the +5 volt supply on the SOS board inside the TV. Either a failure or a short circuit.
