Where Is Headphone Jack Located?

Step 1

Check the Panasonic TV cabinet on the front and back panels to determine if the model is equipped with a dedicated headphone jack. If not, go to Step 2.

Step 2

Look at the headphone plug on the end of the cable. It will be one of two types, either a standard RCA plug or a 1/8-inch mini-plug. The Y-adapter will need a jack to fit either the standard RCA plug or the smaller mini-plug jack, with standard RCA plugs on the other end of the adapter.

Step 3

Connect the two RCA plugs on the Y-adapter to the Audio Out jacks on the back of the Panasonic television.

Step 4

Plug the headphones into the remaining Y-adapter jack.

Step 5

Turn on the Panasonic TV and use the remote control to access the main menu by pressing the "Menu" key.

Step 6

Use the up and down arrow keys to move through the menu choices until "Speakers" appears on the TV screen.

Step 7

Use the right and left arrow keys to turn the Panasonic TV's built-in speakers on or off. This will shut off the built-in speakers so the user can enjoy private listening with headphones.

These headphones have a volume control knob that you can use to adjust the volume of the sound coming through the headphones, opposed to non-amplified headphones which have a fixed volume level that can't be controlled at all.
