A Sucking Sound Comes From My Engine When I Accelerate Rapidly.

1999 Frontier xCab XL w/4 cyl engine and automatic transmission. The sound reminds me a bit of my old '56 Ford Victoria when I would remove the air filter cover and filter, letting its 4 bbl Holly carbeurator suck air. Everything is where it's supposed to be--air filter, housing cover, etc., and the same with the intake filter. What could it be?
