Why Has The Viewer Stopped Working. Why Is There No Recall?

Whilst on holiday Nikon S9100 the lens kept sticking,, and would not take photos or even switch off. I had to reboot by removing battery and have the zoom switch operating as I turned on to kick the camera into working. Now there is no picture on the viewing screen although the rest appears to work. It takes pictures and movie too. Battery is fully charged. hilst on holiday the shutter stopped working too. My wife said it was my fault for having camera out and dust probably got in.

Recalls are only for when there's a widespread problem with a particular model. That's no the case with this camera. Camera lenses and shutters are very intricate and are unfortunately almost impossible to fix if they become stuck. Your best bet would be to either send it in to Canon for repair or find someone local that fixes cameras.
