Can I Use A Different Area Code To Make My New Huawei Ascend Ii Work In My Area

I already have an account with net 10 and have already paid for this month but my present phone broke so I bought the huawii ascend II . when i checked it was compatable but when I spoke with the representative they told me that it was not compatible with this zip code. I dont want to loose the month hthat I have already paid for with this new phone, can i change my area code on my account so that the phone will work

Hi. The following is quoted from Net10.

"Occasionally, area codes change in the U.S. When this occurs, wireless phones may need to be reprogrammed with a new area code and phone number.

If you have been directed to this page or if you are aware of an area code change and wish to check if it applies to your NET10 phone, please follow the instructions below.

Please have your NET10 phone with you during the update process.
You will need to have your NET10 phone Serial Number. You can find the Serial Number by pressing the Menu key and select the Prepaid menu. Scroll down to IMEI number and press select and your Serial Number will be displayed.
You will also need to provide the zip code of the area where you will be using your NET10 phone the most."
