Nec Np41 Cooling Pump?

I can't get this Nec NP41 to "project" anymore.. I was told that the lamp has been replaced..But all i get is a startup beep, the fans come on, and no picture, light up nothing.. about a mintue later and it powers down. With the status light flashing..8 cycle (flashes 8 times then repeats).. according to the manual, this is either the lamp is not tightened all the way (which i can't seen to get one side to thread, with the lamp in --the treads are good), or the cooling pump??
