First and probably the easiest to do. Check your air filter to make sure there is no blockage in the intake.
Next if you decided to get into the motor pull out your spark plugs and check to see if they are properly gapped or if they are burnt out. You can check the gap by buying a gapping tool at any auto store. You can find the proper plug gap by searching your "Year, Make, Model" and "Spark plug gap" on google. If the plugs look almost black or burnt or if the look perfectly shiny and almost "Steam cleaned" this is bad and they must be replaced.
Next you can check you fuel filter for any blockage or to see if the filter still looks clean.
If you have to go any further than this I would take it to a shop for service.
