Why Does On In My 04 Mercury Mountaineer Keep Overheating

First.....you change the thermostat. Its around $6.00 to $9.00 depending on what area you are in. if that doesn't work check the radiator overall see if there's any leaks. if there is, replace the radiator. Second...., change the water pump the water pump is less expensive but, more labor work. Third...., replace the radiator cost about $150.00.

if those three don't work you possibly have a blown head gasket or air trapped in the block of the engine.
