There Are Two Prongs On The Power Cord But All The Cords I've Found Have Prongs

Are There Two Different Spacings For The Power Cord Prongs? all Cords I Have Found Are About 1/16" Too Far Apart.

That's a "polarized" plug, and is done mainly for safety reasons. If everything's wired correctly, the hot side (the energized/dangerous side) is minimized and controlled within the device.

For example, consider a lamp with a power switch. If the bulb was an incandescent and its glass was broken, a properly polarized setup would keep an energy potential out of that busted bulb when it was broken if the switch was off.

A badly wired/unpolarized device could leave an energy potential exposed in that bulb even when the switch was off.
