1991 Mazda 626 Estate 2.2l Engine - Rear Disc Caliper

Rear brake caliper will not slide open to allow fitting new pads, has bolt one side & a cap with rubber insert on other side, how do I seperate; also onlt 1 spring clip was installed to hold ends of pads?
