Maytag Mfc2061kes Slow Water Dispenser Flow

Changed the water filter and water flow is now reduced, tried another filter and no change.  Checked several times to make sure filter was in properly.  Used hair dryer to make sure no lines were frozen, none apparent.  When initally pressing the water button I get a light thumping sound out of the filter, it goes away in a second.  Also when pressing the water button, the water is dispensed with normal pressure for 1-2 seconds, then it stays reduced.  When installing the bypass plug the dispensing pressure is fine.  I've run severall gallons thru the filter each time I install it.  Ice maker seems to work ok.  I'm a pretty good DIY so not afraid to repair but need directions or manual to follow to do so.
