I Have A Maytag Neptune Mah5500bww That Won't Stop Filling With Water.

My Maytag Neptune MAH5500BWW won't stop filling with water (It does stop if turned off or unplugged). Initially I unplugged the washer hoping it would reset the unit without resolution. Although overfilling and will flood the laundry room if unattended the cycles appear to attempt to work, water temps are correct, and it will spin out the accumulated water if spin is selected. Any ideas of what needs to be checked and/or replaced. Any assistance would be more than greatly appreciated.
