Can't Get My Makita 9227c Backing Plate Off
I push the button and hold down the release button to release the backing plate but it doesn't spin off

You need to put some oil in the spindle than
Push the black button while rotating the backing plate by hand. You should feel the spindle lock engage, allowing you to simply unscrew the backing plate.
