The Wiz's characterization of magicJack as a scam though grossly overstated may have some justification, but it will not help you resolve your issue, and suggesting an alternative service will not get value for what you paid or even get your money back.

You may wish to try these instructions. You can also reset the device, as explained here. Or consider "Running MagicJack as System" as outlined here.

Although magicJack's customer support is indeed minimal, magicJack does have a phone number to call: 561-594-9925.

Finally, you can dispute any payment with your bank or complain to the Florida Attorney General at 850-414-3990, and the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services, at 850-488-2221 or 2005 Apalachee Pkwy.

Unfortunately it's unlikely you will be able to resolve your problem after six months. MagicJack is essentially a scam. It rarely ever works right and customer service is virtually non-existant. I recommend looking for alternatives such as Skype.
