How To Get Magic Jack Working Properly After A Computer Problem

I run Windows 10 on my computer. Two weeks ago something caused Win 10, AVG, Carbonite, and Magic Jack to fail. Working with Microsoft, AVG. and Carbonite techs I was able to get the computer performing very near what it was before the failure. Magic Jack tech personnel have not been able to correct my problem which is: no dial tone on the phone when I make a call, no ringing on the phone, (there is ringing on the computer), no voice connection to the receiving party, (their phone rings but when they pick up [land line] they hear silence. Also, the Desktop icon for Magic Jack turned into a rectangular box vs the normal circular icon. I have tried working with Magic Jack techs via remote access and the last thing the tech told me was I need a new MJ device for 24.95, which I don't think is the problem considering four programs failed at the same time. Does this information sound familiar to you?When Microsoft techs were on remote access they added a second User...could this possibly cause a connection problem?
