Contacts List

I used my contacts list successfully yesterday Thursday 19th Aug. This morning when I signed on I notice that the contacts list is not there. It has been deleted and I don't know the reason. How can I ensure that this does not recur and what is the reason for this? I have been using it for the past few weeks and never experienced a problem. Also, when I am having a conversation, I am experiencing frequent cutting off. Can you help me please?

The things that are advised for you to do by the 'live agent' - customer care person you would talk to on the webiste are as follows:

First thing regarding the contact list - safely remove the device from your computer.
Shut your computer down - and then plug the MJ back in, and restart the computer.
Let it come up completely.
If that doesn't fix it, you will need to go to the website and go to the link at the bottom of the page for customer care/live agent - and then go to the live help link on the next page.

They should be able to help you with that. (They will have you remove the device again etc. - but not shut down the computer - and they will also ask you to uninstall (through your control panel) and reinstall the device - and perhaps even give you a link to a patch to fix the problem.

I know - because I had the problem about 3 weeks into my use of the MJ - and I had to do ALL those things - and eventually the 'patch' link they gave me did the trick. Regarding the cutting off - that could be a problem with your internet connection or speed. Initially we had hi speed dsl service through our phone company and we had the cutting off problems - we switched to hi speed dsl through the cable company which is faster for the same 'service' package - and now I only have a problem when I have too much going on at one time - for example my desktop email client - it checks 10 email accounts at a set time - all at once and if it is doing that - I will get a broken or cutting out sound for incoming sound - but not necessarily for outgoing. So I just go in and stop my email client when I'm on the phone if I need to.

Yes I had the same problem. To resolve the cut-out problem you need to get a usb booster. You can purchase one at radio shack. As far as the most recent software update that deleted you contact list, well I have been on-line with them all day and have gotten nowhere! Very frustrated, they say, sorry but you must re-create your contact list. I am out time and money, much more than I paid for the service! It is BS.

Magic Jack stated"some customers will no longer have thier past contact list available, please create a new one". They just did a upgrade that should prevent this from ever happening again. Also stated " We apologize for any inconvenience" Hope this helps!
