There's no best answer so I"ll give you a few possibilities for removing the brassy from your hair.

There are L'Oreal products you can use but perhaps you can start with Sheer Blonde Colour Renew from John Freida. You might want to have this done at a salon.

The really brave or those willing to risk it all will go purple because it is the opposite of the orange that you're picking up and don't want.  Don't dye it purple - use the purple shampoo a few times a week until you see the blonde the way you want it.

You can also try Colorist Secret Brass Banisher from L'Oreal, Paris. Just brush it into dry hair as you would color it and follow instructions. But be advised that some love it and others...well...don't.

Just found a really interesting home remedy which is something I'm considering if I ever make that brassy mistake again:

  • Dawn dishwashing liquid (the original blue)
  • baking soda (these first 2 are great for deskunking dogs if you leave it on long enough)
  • Cheap, high sulfate shampoo
  • Dandruff shampoo (which is also high in sulfates)

Mix the above together - don't be put off by the foaming, just scrub it in just like a shampoo.  Let it sit for 20-30 minutes, rinse.

Then make a paste of baking powder, baking soda, and Dawn and coat hair with it right down to the roots. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes (I'd use a cap to cover)

Rinse and shampoo and condition with your regular product. (I'm not sure you really need another shampoo but you might really need the conditioner.)

For the next week, repeat the process regularly alternating by using just dandruff shampoo (high in sulfates to help remove the color) and the paste mixture which must be left on for 20-30 minutes and followed by conditioner.

It might not remove all of the brass but at least 50% which should carry you till your next coloring with a different product or color.
